JOB DESCRIPTION:  Process Operators – Coater, Slitter, Metallizer, Sheeter The Process Operator is an integral part of our manufacturing team. Primary responsibilities include set up and operation of any of the following machines-coater, slitter, metallizer, or sheeter while ensuring customer satisfaction, quality, and safety. This position reports to a Shift Supervisor. Work schedule will be 12 hour rotating shifts either days or evenings, but will require flexibility and the ability to work overtime if needed.

Shifts:

Day:

1D 7am – 7pm Sunday – Tuesday, + every other Wednesday

2D 7am – 7pm Thursday – Saturday, + every other Wednesday

Night:

1N 7pm – 7am Sunday – Tuesday, + every other Saturday

2N 7pm – 7am Wednesday – Friday, + every other Saturday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operates coating, slitting, metalizing, or sheeting machines
  • Load rolls of paper onto the machines.
  • Set up machine within established tolerance levels.
  • Monitor all necessary adjustments.
  • Operate overhead hoist, trucks and dollies to transport materials to and from machine.
  • Work from production schedules, work orders, specification sheets, checklists and verbal instructions to attain required production quantities with appropriate quality levels.
  • Monitor quality of product throughout process.
  • Monitor condition of equipment and process control devices to insure that they are in proper working condition.
  • Conduct various tests to determine whether product complies with established specification.
  • Identify malfunctions, process problems and unusual conditions and report such situations to Supervisor.
  • Take active role in the analysis and troubleshooting process to correct problems.
  • Clean machine and work area in accordance to established specifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Prior experience in a similar machine operator positions a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds required.
  • Must be capable of using judgment to plan and perform set ups and operate within standard procedures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding English required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and regulations as well as basic product and process documentation.
  • Must be capable of using judgment to plan and perform set ups and operate within standard procedures.
  • Proficient in basic math. Must be able to perform basic arithmetic; i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, including decimals and fractions, simple use of formulas, charts, drawings, specifications, schedules, checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
  • Experience with 5S a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus.

Position Summary

Responsible for preparing, measuring and testing a wide variety of coating solutions.  Pumps solution from

mix-room to appropriate work areas and maintains inventory. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor.

 Job Duties:

  • Prepare batches of a wide variety of coating solution (caustics, lacquer, primer, resin, pigment or solvent) according to formulation on batch cards and orders.
  • Complete batch card and logs of actual amounts of materials added and process conditions (temperature, mix speeds, times, etc.).
  • Use lab instruments to perform viscosity and gloss measurements on mixed batches of coating solution; compares measurements with established specifications. Adjust solution in tank accordingly.
  • Assist outside vendors of resins, ethyl acetate, and isopropanol when deliveries are made. Ethyl acetate shipments must have records.  Ensure proper paperwork is received before accepting deliveries.
  • Transport resin bags, and solutions drums to appropriate areas using forklift, power truck, hand dolly, clamp truck hoists, pallet jacks, and wrappers.
  • Responsible for soda ash addition to soften water, in the wet end building.
  • Ensure finalized solution is pumped to appropriate work station using hoses and gauges. Prepare labels and stores finalized solution. Ensure all containers are properly labeled.
  • As requested or required, perform pH tests on caustics, and takes samples of resins for infrared test. Use viscometer, measuring instruments, pH sticks, and ovens.
  • Clean cylinders in caustic wash area according to standard operating procedures.
  • Assist coater operators during change-overs and web breaks.
  • Handle and log hazardous waste using proper safety procedures. Ensure hazardous waste drum area is maintained in an orderly condition.
  • Manage RCRA and state classified hazardous waste. Maintain records for Mass Balance requirements.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Move material as needed in performance of duties or as directed.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervisor. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.

Position Requirements:           

  • High School Diploma; valid power truck Operator’s License; Forklift Operator’s License needed
  • Use of basic math; simple use of charts and diagrams; use of laboratory measuring instruments; checking of batch card forms and other data where interpretation is required. Ability to use data to analyze and troubleshoot.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Heavy work. Lifting – 100 lbs. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Required to lift 50 lb. Bags of resin onto Hopper table. Uses dollies and hoists to lift 15,000 lbs. in rolls of paper. Concentrated visual attention to ensure high accuracy in measurements of chemicals, and operation of mixing machines. Care required to operate equipment to prevent injury to others. Plans, performs and makes decisions as to the sequence of set ups and processes within standard procedures for 4 shifts. Probable damage if improper operation of equipment results; over $8,000, as mixing machines are very expensive and solutions would have to be discarded.  Probable loss if spoilage and damage are not detected; paper rolls are worth $3,000-$10,000 or more.  Continuous exposure to noise, fumes, chemicals, hot and cold. Could result in some injuries not incapacitating in nature.

Position Summary

The Controls Systems Engineer performs assignments across an entire range of plant equipment with the primary goal of keeping the equipment running, fabrication, machining, modification of parts and equipment, assembly and repair of production parts. This position reports to the Process Engineer.

 

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshooting and evaluation of existing control systems for High Speed Manufacturing Equipment to ensure operation of equipment to meet plant or department requirements;
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Support for Machine Upgrades, Overhauls, and Rebuilds
  • Troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, and HMI systems
  • Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations and upkeep based on findings.
  • Diagnose and determine root causes of problems, make corrections, repair or replace units as necessary.
  • Assisting with equipment selection and procurement
  • On-call service/support for manufacturing plant
  • Program and configure automated controls systems including, but not limited to, PLCs, SCADA, Historians
  • Make program changes to Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLC’s.
  • System Testing, Commissioning, Start Up and Operator Training
  • Support the creation of new wiring/electrical diagrams and/or review of existing wiring/electrical diagrams

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Mechatronics/ Systems Design/ Automation/ Industrial Engineering;
  • Minimum 5-8 years of industry related experience in automation controls and/or systems integration experience with automation equipment, process control systems, communications / network products, OPC software, HMI/MMI/SCADA, Operator Interfaces;
  • Possession of following knowledge are desired:
    • P&ID (Process and Instrumentation) diagrams is desired to determine IO and understand the physical layout of the plant;
    • Data Logging, Database and Historian Technologies

Position Summary:

To ensure ARM’s continuous growth towards the highest levels of customer satisfaction through high quality products and service levels, we are looking for an Account Manager who will identify, evaluate and manage the (new) metallized paper label & printing business segment, and drive marketing initiatives to create demand for metallized paper. In this position you are responsible for developing relationships throughout the value chain with a specific focus on end-users and be accountable for creating pull through the end-user channel. In this position you report directly to the Sales Director.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Learn the full product range of ARM’s products -how products work and how to troubleshoot issues with customers;
  • Increase business opportunities and build a pipeline for accelerated new business growth;
  • Work with the Sales Director to focus on segments and a target list of end-users to grow our shares in Brazil and Latin America;
  • Develop strategic partnerships and establish relationships, which result in efficiently customer meetings to identify products and processes that match their needs;
  • Navigate customer organizations to map their needs, develop strategies, and match internal ARM resources in order to build relationships with end-user customers;
  • Become a valued partner for ARM’s customers by presenting and driving new ideas and initiatives into project business opportunities;
  • Conduct market research, monitor, report on industry trends and incorporate knowledge of the industry to effectively partner;
  • Prepare and submit monthly sales reports to management.

Position Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Sales and Marketing
  • 7+ Years’ solid experience in a commercial position; a background in paper/board/flexible film/ flexible packaging is a plus
  • Good understanding in manufacturing & production environment, sales process, product management, marketing and other directly related sales experience;
  • Proven negotiation skills and superior performance metrics
  • Excellent customer service, outstanding communication & presentation skills
  • Strong decision-making abilities and being able to interact in a matrix organization;
  • Competence in MS office in word, excel and PowerPoint.

 

Travel: typically < 40%

Language: Full English and Spanish competency is a must, Japanese is a plus
